h2g2 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Earth Edition

I'm a little surprised that everyone is just shrugging this whole- when the new millenium begins- thing. First I would like to recognize and congratulate this article for identifying 2000 to 2001 as the new millenium. (Arthur C. Clark just didn't randomly pick 2001 for his space oddessy.) Secondly I'd like to say that I'm not some anal egghead who is wagging his finger. To be honest I hope we all have this big bash, realize our mistake, and have another. No, it does concern me as to how our decendants will look back upon us, in a thousand years, as they prepare for their celebration. Just think as how we reflect on people a thousand years ago. It just bothers me at just how easy it is to dumb people up. It's a growing problem and anyone who tries to correct the misinformation is frowned upon. Yes does it really matter that most people run around like sheep lapping up anything their told without question! Of course not, but their are some that still try to keep things honest, even if the masses they try to help does not want it.
