I've been here and there for a while. Mostly There judging by the lack of journal entries...
Anyway, the following has transpired at Chez Caveman in recent months..
Firstly, I now appear to be the manager of the North Stand betting shop at Fratton Park. Personally I can think of better (and much WARMER) places to be, but with so many bank holiday, sunday, and other games it makes for a shedload (literally) of overtime. On this particularly cold Sunday, we had the honour of freezing to death while being beaten by Arsenal 1-0. On Tuesday 28th (when i'm sure the heat wave will fail to materialise yet again) we get to be clobbered by Chelsea. January 1st we try and freeze the whatsits off the folks from Norwich City. Assuming that I can still move by then, we follow that up with Gillingham, Blackburn, and then Middlesbrough visit at 7:45pm on what is bound to be a record breakingly icy February 1st.
Did I mention it's cold?
The reference to a shed is deliberate. The betting shop in the North Stand lower section is a shed. Next time you're visiting Fratton Park, drop by and say hello. (Please bring a hot water bottle, coffee, blankets, fan heaters, and any other heat generators you can lay your hands on)
Secondly, The Tuesday Trios league which I was league secretary of at the Portsmouth Bowl in Arundel Street is no more. If anyone does anything on a Tuesday that involves Trios, I have a perfectly good domain name of truesdaytrios.org.uk that needs a good home. Life continues as normal with the Business House league (www.businesshouse.org.uk) where my team is trying it's best to wipe out all opposition to win the league.
Anyway, things to do. Xmas approaching and as usual nobody tells me what they would appreciate gift-wise. Typical.
