About time I wrote another journal entry, before we get clobbered by Chelsea on what promises to be a freezing cold November Saturday evening. If I were you, I'd stay in the pub and watch it on the plasma...
Since the last journal entry, the results have been, well, less than exciting. We did clobber Sunderland 4-1, and it was away from home (I guess nobody told the troops, because they seem to get scared away). Anyhow, in no particular order other than chronological: Middlesboro (Away) - Drew 1-1, Charlton (Home) - Lost 2-1, Sunderland (Away) - WON 4-1, Wigan (Home) Lost 2-0, Liverpool (Away) Lost 3-0.
So, Chelsea, eh? Theres one team that does not like to lose, at all. Away record of 4-1-1 (Drawing only to Everton, which must have come as a shock, and losing only away to Manchester United). About the only conselation the Pompey squad can draw from that is that they beat Manchester United last year 2-0.
Ladbrokes have not yet published the prices. Personally I'd price it up as Portsmouth 8/1, Draw 7/2, Chelsea 1/6. I think I could afford to go 4/1 on the draw. I expect this to be firmly in the first section of the StrikeItRich coupon, and probably in the first section of the Millionaire coupon, although we tend to avoid putting 5:15pm kick-offs in there. (I don't work for trading, for what it's worth, probably just as well, although I'll find out tomorrow).
For those Caveman journal readers that frequent the North Stand at Fratton Park, I'll see you there on Saturday evening. I'll be the one freezing to death in the shed...
