Well, for me at least. My first experience with the stuff was in the German language area (Germany or Austria). The wobbly component is what got me first. The sweetness was just a bonus.

The plus for this one was learning the word Wackelpudding from Tavaron. 
We grew up with jello in all kinds of flavours and forms and in the US it's what they feed you in hospital. It's traditional. 
Not Germans, who will offer you Blutwurst and pickles after surgery.
