Excellent shot!

Hello! I'm so happy you managed to snap this Bearded Reedling so well. This is a species which we in South Africa do not have! We have several reed-inhabiting species that live in a similar way: a variety of Bishops and Widows that mostly nest in reedbeds but may also find some of their food there; dedicated reed-skulking warblers like the Little Rush Warbler and the Lesser Swamp Warbler, and a few that eat small seeds, like the Common and Zebra Waxbills.

Excellent shot!

smiley - laugh Yes!

Thanks both smiley - ok Yes, reeds provide excellent camouflage for skulking birds, and plenty of food for the birds that can digest the seeds smiley - ok
