Excellent - I've enjoyed reading this and have only a couple of comments.
Firstly, I think you are missing an end quotation, possibly after beard?
I'd also consider mentioning how the novel deals with weightlessness and zero gravity in the section describing dining, for example clarifying whether they are able to drink as 'normal'.
