I agree with you about Francis Ha. My problem with it (as well as all of your problems) is that it was too emotionally scripted - "bring them up, take them down, everybody cringe, bring them back up again for the final number".
Unlike most of the Allen films I have seen, it never surprised me - suddenly taking a turn that sticks in the mind and subverting the formula.
You have convinced me to try and see it though. As always, thanks for your reviews.
