Welcome, welcome, welcome to h2g2. I am your ACE - Assistant Community Editor, a volunteer Researcher who helps to guide rookie Researchers about their new home.
Early last year the BBC, in their infinite wisdom, decided to sell our beloved Hootoo. Well, we hit the

Ooops! It means you are either posting to a Pliny thread from another skin, or, you have come across a glitch in the system

Excuse me for butting in, but the reason that Oolon's post appeared to fail, ( the entire post is visible in the older skins) is that there are no spaces either side of his link, and that the link has been placed in quotes.
The system does not like this and so strips out the whole contents of postings such as this. There are other reasons too, but this was the problem in that particular instance.
URL's are fine.
