Dear h2g2 readers and peers:
Please take a look at my writing on online communities and let me know what you think.
I would love to take this writing further and think that the input of THIS online community would be incredibly valuable.
I look forward to your scrutiny.
Thanks!

I've just looked at http://h2g2.com/dna/h2g2/alabaster/test87777463 and there is a lot of text in there, but there seems to be a few GuideML errors too, which results in the text not being visible.
Could a more technical person please help maewills make the text appear, please?

If replaces all the "&" characters it should work... (just do a find & replace with the word "and").

Changed format to plain text - there was no GuideML - to make this visible, but now it is, back to Entry?

It is very long but very interesting.
Not written as typical guide entry that I come across anyway but I don't see why that should exclude it from being one
As it has only become visible why back to entry?

It seems to be a college paper reused. I wouldn't be happy with the precedent that this was an acceptable way to write Entries.

When I say very long, too long I think, for an average reader, so I think it could be shortened to make it more of article more general readership, with link to full 'paper' as it stands now

Well if it went to the Flea Market someone could take on the editing of it to a more readable format? Peanut, it's a topic you find interesting, maybe you could take it on?

I think it is an interesting topic that could make for a good entry.
As it stands it is not suitable for the guide, as it is a paper not written an entry
Mae is new, she might well want to work it into an entry herself, or not. By 'work it', that would be 'a rewrite' to something that is more suited to what I am calling a general readership
I don't think she has been given the opportunity to decide how she would like to go forward given that this is first entry into Peer review and the difficulties that she has had with the tech side of things

That's a fair enough point. Let the hare sit for a while and see if she posts anything more? She hasn't for a few weeks, mind.

If Mae doesn't come back. I think this should go back to entry by which I am assuming this goes back to Mae, not to flea market unless she give permission for that to happen

Hi Megan!
This looks like a really good paper. Were you requesting peer review here in order to polish the writing before submitting it somewhere else? i ask because it is (a) obviously a very big project and (b) not written in the style of an h2g2 Entry.
If so, two infelicitous phrases could be tweaked (these are just what leapt out at me):
Scholar of Hume and philosopher Annette Baier
--this is ambiguous, and may be clearer if worded
Philosopher and Hume scholar Annette Baier
--or even
Philosopher Annette Baier, a scholar of Hume,
Also the phrase 'extra ordinate' (amount of time): I have never met this--is it an amalgam of extraordinary and inordinate? Either would do.
Having said that, reviewing for other destinations is not what h2g2 is for. Entries proposed here are to be original work that is intended for publication on this site.

Oh no! I just saw all this. I did give up after tech difficulties and just decided to check in now. It was a paper that I received very little support on from my school so I've been looking for ways to get feedback. I am happy to edit in a more suitable format for h2g2. Are there any examples I should look at?
