h2g2 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Earth Edition

I'm tired today. This was due to a commotion, for want of a better word, in the night where it looks like someone had to use their emergency alarm system to summon help. We had a Paramedic car followed by an Ambulance outside for some considerable time in the early hours. I hope whoever it was, it isn't overly serious.
As a result I'm on a go slow sort of day today and I think it'll be mostly watching films and playing on the pc.
I'm going to have to nip out fairly smartly in the morning to do some shopping before the electrical safety bod shows up to do his testing. According to the letter explaining what they do, power is likely to be off a few times during the testing. That'll play havoc with the broadband hubs for a start. I have to unplug all electrical stuff as part of the test involves surge testing and to avoid damage to my stuff they plug in their own meters etc. The intention is to test the trip switches in the 2 fuse board panels as well.
Right, gonna get some lunch and settle down for rest of the day.
