September 20, 23:54 CDT, Plano TX. I find myself staring at the walls after yet another night of drinking entirely too much. The decorations are all uneven and out of place. How did I miss that when I put them up? Also, I think that rotten smoke detector is about to fall down again. It hasn't been very stable since the last time I pulled it down. All I need at this point is it falling, landing on the test button, and going off while I'm trying to sleep. I suppose I should just leave it unplugged, but the safety fascist in me won't let that happen. Then again, this wouldn't have happened in the first place if my roommate didn't insist on burning everything he tries to cook in the oven.
In case you're wondering, I'm writing this disjointed pile of drivel to distract myself from the real issue at hand... which I don't really think I should talk about; but then, what's the point of making a journal entry on it? Ah, I think I'll need a little more concrete info before I say anything about that. Maybe tomorrow.
Note to self-- take Mike and Shad's advice more often. They know what they're talking about. Here's hoping I can salvage what's left of the best thing that's happened to me in a long time.
