Well I don't remember exactly anymore, but apparently there was so much outcry about ruined birthday/anniversary suprises and accidentally revealed affairs and such that either they decided to make it optional, or allow some option for people to not have the widgit if they didn't want it, or they got rid of it? Or something like that.
By default everyone was given the widgit... I think.

Vaguely I am reminded of an old cartoon called Widgit the world watcher about this sort of a purple alien who could shapeshift and I think preached environmentalism.

Re the stacking documents problem: right-click on your task bar and choose "Properties", then uncheck the "group similar taskbar buttons" box. Then they just get smaller, but don't stack

I've been playing with a rather biological seeming pattern set lately...

Maybe you can use it and submit it to for its around the universe in 80 worlds feature. Mala can give you instructions for how to submit it.
