Tonight was the night for viewing the eagerly anticipated commentary on Kevin Smith's _Mallrats_ collector's edition DVD. I have now come to the conclusion that, no matter how much I respect Kevin Smith, his crew, and his films, this experience has marked the man for life. Rather than hear every little story associated with the film (Why is the 3D picture not actually a sailboat? How do each of the characters fit in with the trilogy? Why Shannen Doherty?), which is what you'd expect from a man so obsessed with dialogue and pop-culture reference, I was treated to a handful of stories from entertaining people sprinkled gingerly amongst continuous references to how poorly the film did, how much the cast enjoys it, and how the crew of Gramercy couldn't promote themselves out of a paper bag. I know that already! Move on! I'll see _Dogma_ but I hope it does better than this because I'd hate to listen to another sob-story DVD commentary (even though I'll do it out of respect for the man's film-making).

"The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy is a wholly remarkable book. It has been compiled and recompiled many times and under many different editorships. It contains contributions from countless numbers of travellers and researchers."
