A Conversation for Orchestras
Cornet
Brasso Started conversation Oct 2, 1999
Since when has a cornet been a type of horn? While I admit both have conical tubing,
one should really not mention the two in the same breath. The cornet has a tone suitable only to be played on piers
and in minor orchestral bit parts, while the horn (sometimes incorrectly called french horn) is the noblest and best
of all orchestral instruments.
