'Dear Community Eds,
My opinion is that you should let people let off a bit of steam on one thread on ASK and not close it. It's the first week.
It'll build up a head of deep resentment if suddenly threads are being CLOSED.
CLOSING threads is a massive cultural change for h2g2. It was done once in very blue moon before.
You need one thread that WON'T be closed until it seems obvious that its not really needed by the ordianry hootooers..that will have natural anxieties...'

I honestly believe for our long term health..we need to let people express some anger and anxiety...I do that quite easily 
and it ALWAYS leads to something good and creative afterwards...well nearly always
