What car? Fresh Cornish red mullet and samphire

Golf disappeared. Thank god I'm so happy to see the back of it..and all the connotations to do with my previous relationship .

So up the road to the fishmongers..looking at cars parked. Everything boring looking. Silvery grey, pretend streamlined boxes. Then finally something brilliant. A small black BMW Excellent stylish shape. It was an injection one..which the car of my dreams would be. It would cost a bomb and insurance massive.

But if I got something I really loved - not necessarily that..I would start going out places again to the countryside. Friends would come. It would be brilliantly fun to drive.

I'm going to try to carry on thinking in this way.

And christ my parents have enough bloody money and screwed my life in many ways because our whole existence was geared to that. We'll see.

Then onto fishmongers. Decided to try something new. So it was a 'special'. Fresh cornish red mullet. The woman said ideally you bake it..but I'll look up in my Rick Stein seafood book.

And samphire to go with it..and Sauvignon blanc.

I've hardly eaten anything much in weeks so its good to splash out.

I hope this new positivity will last smiley - snork

God that was a strange experience eating that red mullet. I suddenly realised when I came to look at it properly, it was a very strange shaped fish compared to what I'd ever eaten before.

It had a simply massive 'chest' area and a large triangular head..and to my horror curled barbels coming out of its mouth. It turned my stomach.

But I cooked and ate it. It tasted okay I think..it was hard to be objective. I don't think I'll buy another one though smiley - laugh

oh man it was absolutely brilliant. Another or the same? pipistrel bat in the garden. And it had a very specific convoluted circuit it kept doing darting at stuff..and once came down really close to me.

God I love them. Amazing things these small bats.

I'm still quite worried about the gas and electricity being cut off. I am trying to pay it..and keep sending them emails about why they haven't sent me the email which means I can pay by debit card.

They keep sending back automated ones saying they'll get back to me in 24 hours and never do.

I can't ring the bank to arrange payment because the phone won't be fixed 'til friday..I hope to god he turns up and can fix it.

I'm not borrowing anyone elses mobile because it can take half an hour to get through to the company.

There are no longer any public phone boxes around here.

I'm caught in a bit of a labarythinth.

I hope you have lots of blankets.smiley - erm

Just in case.

I'm afraid I can't get much into stories of fish eating. Seafood just leaves me cold.

Sorry I've gone all whiny again. Its more being cut off from h2g2. I'd quite like candle light and barbacues.

It does drive me insane though the way these companies operate. But after this it should be fine because I set up direct debit..at least I hope I have.

It took me two years to get a refund from the water company when they charged me twice for the same bill..

Shall we have another of those competitions between Britain and Canada about utility companies? like we did about roadworks?

Those are two rhetorical questions.

But that pipistrelle bat was total magic.

I'm back off to watch the rest of the soapy medical drama I like smiley - biggrin

Oh and yes thinking about that fish keeps turning my stomach smiley - laugh

The annoying utility thing here is that a few years ago the Provincial Government in it's 'wisdom' decided to 'deregulate' what had been regulated monopolies for about a century. What was obvious to everyone happened: base prices went up, a multitude of little companies were spun off or created out of thin air and now everybody's bill has charges on it from about a dozen companies, most of which only shift papers from one pile to another rather than actually adding any value to the product.smiley - steam

But paying the bills online at the Bank's website is simple as pie.smiley - smiley

smiley - eureka I could go to the bank's web site and try to pay rather than the gas and electricies website..I'm so used to contacting the bank by phone

I'll try that except the bank turned very complicated since it got taken over by a much more massive one..luckily I wrote down the numbers for all the different things called mandates.

But I've not registered online yet for the bank..I hope that won't mean waiting for more emails to turn up that don't.

smiley - snork Hey this is fun..but I'm deadly serious with all these facts.

Yes all our utilities are also now privatised into fragments. Thatcher did that.

Off to the bank's website now smiley - run

Here it's pretty much like using the bank machine to pay bills. You log onto your account with your bank card number and a password and then putter around as you like, paying bills, transferring funds, etc. I've been doing it so long I don't remember what I had to do to set it up initially.smiley - erm

I've now got to wait two days for a letter with a load more numbers in it.

And I already filled in a million numbers to register to do with the telephone system.

Once everything's registered it should be easier. But I tell you I have a small book with about a million numbers in it for pins and mandates, memorable dates etc. plus I have money in various different places..and stuff my dad organised.

I've let things slide with being unwell. My brain *naturally* isn't built this way. It deals with *patterns* and to do with relationships...not endless numbers to do with pins etc

Been up for an hour or so. Early waking seems persistent but it really does look like a beautiful autumn day ahead for the first of September. That's the advantage of these early wakings. Nothing to beat that special atmosphere in the garden in the very early morning.

And not a pin number in sight smiley - winkeye

After a brief sleep woke to morning just getting better. Everything in soft sunshine and lit up..especially that hawthorn and the red berries.
