A more cheery entry
Watched this programme earlier about snow crystals. This Japanese scientist was the first to grow them in a lab, Mr. Nakaya. He tried all different temperatures and found the patterns were incredibly different at different temperatures.
They are simply amazing things I think. Like you can't believe nature would come up with these patterns. Whenever it snows here I always can't help staring at them in amazement.
This is a link to the variety of patterns. Brilliant.

True - there is just so much beauty in nature, and we often just pass it by in our rush to do mundane things.

'Whenever it snows here'
The implication of infrequency just sounds funny from where I am.
Whenever it snows here it's not August.

Whenever it snows in England anhaga, I tend to be in my own house. If it drops to 15C there, the locals turn blue

15 is comfortable.
Two days ago it was +30 here, which I find pretty darn uncomfortable. -30 is much more tolerable.

Canadian weather does look so very pretty though. I think I'd like to experience it - from indoors.

(sorry to hijack the thread)
Canadian weather is certainly not a single thing. In Vancouver they say 'if you can't see the mountains, it's raining. If you can see the mountains, it's about to rain.' In south central B.C. and Southern Alberta, there are cactuses, rattlesnakes and black widow spiders, Southern Ontario (like a number of parts of the country) has tornadoes, and Nova Scotia regularly has hurricanes go by. And then there's the North. . .

I feel incredibly so much better. off to the supermarket now..still wondering what I might buy to eat though to taste. The chicken is gradually being fed to a cat that has started coming round.
Hope this lasts.

An incredibly lovely sunny day here today..one of those late summer days where its starts to feel a bit poignant.
Not a snow crystal in sight though
And fantastic news the fish mongers are back from their holiday in Andalucia..all very tanned.
So its oysters all this aphrodisiac food might be a bit risky though..
But I should get more adventurous..they actually had conger eel steaks there today.

'The chicken is gradually being fed to a cat that has started coming round.
Hope this lasts.'
Well, it won't if you keep feeding it to that cat.

What was I saying about Canadian weather?
'Environment Canada issued a tornado watch covering much of Ontario from Windsor to Thunder Bay and Muskoka, late Wednesday morning.'
http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/windsor/story/2011/08/24/wdr-weather-tornado-watch.html
A man was killed by a tornado in the same part of the country a few days ago.

Right now I'm sitting on the LRT (think 'Tube'). It's a hot sunny afternoon and we're out enjoying it.
As for our weather: we span a continent and stretch from the North Pole half way to the Equator. If you want to see weather, we've got it.
Battery in phone getting low.
