So the final shuttle occurred today....and we put a man on the moon in '69.
The £billions spent on all that in my life are truly astounding.
Honestly...what has been the reason for all of this?
We call it space exploration. What a joke.
The universe is mind numbingly enormous.

Yes, there has been a load of rather pointless moiling about for four decades on the human spaceflight front, but the robotic side has been beyond wondrous, hasn't it?

I've been a member longer than I can remember. Yes, it's U.S. based, but it does a massive amount of work around the world both in lobbying governments and providing financial help to space scientists in places where government funds are not very likely to be forthcoming. Now that Bill Nye (The Science Guy) is heading the organization it is planning to put even more emphasis on science education for children -- although that has always been a very prominent part of their mandate.
And Emily Lakdawalla is kinda hot.
