Hi, and welcome to H2G2.

My name's Z, I'm one of the volenteers who welcomes newcomers to h2g2, answers any questions, and provide smiley - tea and smiley - coffee- a real live person, not an automated message.

Do you have questions? Just click on reply and I'll be happy to help. H2g2 can be a pretty confusing site at times, but there's lots of people here to help you.

Finding your way around the site can be pretty confusing but if you've got any questions<./>DontPanic-FAQ</.> has plenty of answers.

People come to h2g2 for a variety of reasons:

There's people who are hear to write and contribute to the Edited Guide - the entries that are featured on the front page. The <./>Contribute</.> page has lots of information.

If you'd like to contribute to the guide let me know and I'll be able to help you in any way I can, I've written several entries myself and I also help out by picking good entries for the Edited Guide.

Some people also write for <./>ThePost</.> our community newspaper, and the <./>Underguide</.> for writting that's good quality but not factual.

There's people who come to get involved in heated debates, serious and not so serious.

The Forum A1146917 , is a place for semi-serious debates, Ask H2G2 is also a place for not so serious debates and chat A148907.

Then there's clubs on h2g2 for people with a specific interest, or who live in a specific area, a great way to meet new friends - you can find a list of them here A660304 - some are busier than others.

Nice to meet you, and if you've got any questions or you just fancy a chat do click on reply, it's always nice to get meet people.

smiley - cheers

Z (a real live researcher!)
