Game theory

This is good as a potted summary of the game. If you wanted to extend this further, look at the theory of game playing, in other words the reason for the strategies that game players deploy to outwit their opponants.
Some of these strategies, such as bluffing and going blind are applied to situations away from the card table. It often involves the pursuit of power and the control of others.
Gaming is in a sense a rehearsal for real life power plays, and the theory of games applies in a variety of spheres from psychology through to economic theory.
The nuances of 'bluff' and abstract concepts around the game separate the human player from the machine and provide an insight into the different forms of intelligence and their application in the realm not only of game-playing but also in the way that games function.
I hope that this has provided some food for thought GC
