Welcome to the new H2G2 (or noohootoo as we lovingly call it). 
The site is currently undergoing some major changes in appearance as well as having a big 'For Sale' sign in the front garden, so it is a little difficult to know what to tell you.
There are still various bugs which may block your postings, and smileys only work if written in forum code (if they work at all).

Reading the h2g2 Post (you'll find a link to it on the Front Page) is another good idea to get information.
