h2g2 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Earth Edition

Workload increasing by the day. The Admissions Tutor and Directors of Studies now making final decisions on who to call for interview (overseas applicants have mostly been called already, as they have to book flights etc). As each subject is dealt with, I schedule the interviews - some subjects e.g. Modern Languages, or Human, Social & Political Sciences, more complicated than others and give me a headache. We aim to send all interview invitations by 3rd week in November. This year we are also hosting some of the training sessions for new interviewers, which involves recruiting first-year students in various subjects to be 'mock-interviewed'. Thankfully this is going to rotate round the colleges, so we won't have to do it again for 5-6 years, by which time I may well have retired - hurray!

Decided I need to get out of town this weekend, so planning to do chores today (supermarket shop, cleaning - ugh!) and have a jaunt to Stamford on Sunday, when the forecast is more promising.
