The bike is now OK. I discovered after struggling for a few days that the front tyre was not properly inflated (doh! but you don't expect that when you get a *new* bike straight from the shop!), so after pumping it up and adjusting the saddle height, things are a lot better. It's still not my old bike though. Apparently one of my neighbours saw his stolen bike being ridden around in a nearby street, and on challenging the cyclist was told that he had bought it in a bike shop on Newmarket Road. I went off to check out the bike shop - it looks very dodgy ('sunbeds and cycle repairs'), but my bike was nowhere to be seen.
Today the Admissions Tutor and I went into work for a couple of hours to read some lists. I can't tell you what they were, or I'd have to kill you. Suffice to say that they will be providing us with a lot of work for the next few days.
After we'd done that, I went to the Picturehouse cinema, grabbed a bite to eat (cheesecake and a coffee) and went to see 'Beautiful Lies'. Audrey Tautou is very pretty and charming, but is the same in every film I've seen her in. Sami Bouajila was good. Locations in Sete made me homesick for the south of France. I'm planning a short trip to France next month, and had almost decided on St Malo, but now I'm thinking the Midi would be nice ...

Oh yes, it's either Beautiful Lies or Cell 211 for us on Tuesday. I fancy Cell 211 but Susan might prefer Beautiful Lies.
I'll leave the choice to her.
