Easter Sunday

Went to church this morning (don't worry Douglas, it's a less-than-once-a-year thing) at 6.15am. Cloudy and quite nippy while I cycled over to Selwyn College Chapel, and it was distinctly chilly when we were all standing outside the door while the chaplain and servers tried to keep the Paschal fire going and get the candle lit. All well in the end, but I think they must have used half a box of matches!
Rather long service (2 hours!) but good music, and followed by bucks' fizz and croissants, and then an Easter egg hunt in the College garden.
Home in good time for TA omnibus, then out to the pub with the Sunday lunch crew - 14 of us today, which must be some sort of record. Pub landlady has a new puppy - an adorable little Briard - which she brought down from her flat to introduce to us.
Came home and lolled on the sofa, alternately dozing and reading 'Engleby' - distinctly underwhelmed. Might go to the seaside tomorrow if the good weather continues.
