I'm researching a possible spring break to the far north in the next few weeks. Any tips?
If I do it, I may well be passing through Aiberdeen ...

Ghostwalk looks ver' good, and I shall pick up a copy.
Re your trip North - Susan and I have been in Orkney, and I do rather like the place, but, frankly, it is a place to go for a few days or for the rest of your life; a week there would pall somewhat. I have been to Shetland once, and didn't care for it - but people might rhapsodise over what bores me silly; de gustibus &c &c.
You'll get a few days out of Aiberdeen and the environs. I'd suggest Stonehaven, the Bullers o' Buchan/Cruden Bay/Nairn (Findhorn?)/Huntly/Speyside... the distilleries &c. Caius is the man to come up with a list.
Of course, we'd lay on the fatted calf.
You must encourage Susan NOT to let me weasel out of wintermas in Camb. I will begin the programme of denial/retreat &c ver' soon; I know me, yes I will...

Have booked trip for late May. Not like me to do things on the spur of the moment, like that, so I'm now a bit excited!
Can I email you on your Uni address?
