Parents' lunch
annie_cambridge Started conversation Jan 15, 2011
Was in the office this morning as we had a few interviews of applicants from the Pool. Incited by my boss, decided to gatecrash the pre-lunch drinks for the "Freshers' parents' lunch" and unexpectedly got invited to stay and eat, as one of my colleagues was ill and couldn't attend.
It's a good event - organised by the Development Office, presumably with a view to future fundraising. It's for parents of first-year students who are bringing their daughters back to Cambridge for the start of term, and enables them to meet the friends the daughter has made during her first term as well as some of the staff, and to have a look round the college.
Very nice lunch - guineafowl, followed by white chocolate cheesecake.
