Have been at my sister's for Christmas (since Friday afternoon) and came home at lunchtime today. While it's very enjoyable to have a few days away, it's also very nice to come home, where I can do exactly what I want, when I want, without having to fit in with other people.
My niece also arrived to join us on Christmas Eve evening, so there were four of us for Christmas lunch - the now traditional barbecued turkey. My nephew, plus wife and in-laws (ma, pa and brother), came on Boxing Day for the day - more eating and drinking, plus a walk in snowy fields with my niece's lovely dog (a rescue greyhound). Lovely news - C (nephew's wife) is pregnant, due in July!
