Rain, rain go away!

Post 1

annie_cambridge

I've had enough of rain this week.

Was getting ready for work this morning, and thought I'd left a bag with my waterproof trousers in it at an office where I had a meeting yesterday evening. Went outside rather crossly (luckily it was between showers), thinking I would have to go and get them at lunchtime, and found them in my bike basket! Thank goodness nobody had nicked them.

Needed them on the way home this evening, and it's still coming down steadily.

Was thinking of going to see Tamara Drewe this evening, but decided to have a night in instead, as I was out Monday and Tuesday evenings. May go tomorrow.

You will have gathered that dagesh, Caius and I all enjoyed Tamara Drewe, so please do give us your comments when you do get around to seeing it. I wonder if PJ has seen it. Ditto PJs OH.

Have now seen Tamara Drewe, Douglas. Ummm ... not sure - it was OK, I suppose. There were a number of people rather older than me in the cinema, who were cackling inordinately at things I thought were mildly funny - maybe they rang true for people who live in villages?

Having seen it described as a 'filthy' version of TA, I didn't find it particularly shocking. I thought Roger Allam's character was not really sufficiently sleazy or unpleasant to deserve what happened to him (not wishing to spoil it for PJ or her OH if they haven't seen it yet).

Tamsin Greig was very good, of course. Oh, and the schoolgirls were brilliant!

"The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy is a wholly remarkable book. It has been compiled and recompiled many times and under many different editorships. It contains contributions from countless numbers of travellers and researchers."
