Hog roast

Twas the first hog roast of the year at my local yesterday, so my friend and I deserted the Sunday Lunch Club at the other pub, and went along. Quite well attended, and delicious lunch. It was a lovely sunny day, but still much too cold to sit outside.
In the afternoon, I cycled over to the Fitzwilliam Museum to see a Chinese painter-in-residence. Mildly disappointing: I felt while watching him that he had probably done the same designs many times before. Although it was undoubtedly very skilful, there was something a bit mechanical about it. Went and had another look at the Sargent, Sickert, Spencer exhibition.
Cycled home via the historic city centre and along the river from Magdalene Bridge to Midsummer Common - lovely! Bought a Norwegian Crisp (cross between an Eccles cake and a palmier - flat, with raisins in) from Fitzbillie's to have with a cup of tea.
