Unusual for me to be away from home two weekends running, but after Nottingham last w/e, this weekend was the ML Tate meet. I missed it last year (went to see Strictly Come Dancing on tour), so it was nice to see people again.

The Cambridge to King's Cross line is being dug up between Hitchin and Stevenage every weekend between now and April, so opted for the Liverpool St line. It takes about 25 minutes longer, but is preferable (IMO) to having to get on a coach for part of the journey. Got the bus to London Bridge and walked to the Tate via Borough Market, which was of course absolutely heaving, it being Saturday morning.

Apparently there were approximately 60 MLers at the Tate, although a few people remarked that they thought there were fewer than in previous years. Had some very enjoyable chats with various people, and lots of cake!

About 3.30pm there was a move to the Anchor, and I stayed there doing more chatting (and Hebe and I managed to restrain ourselves from talking shop *all* the time!) until about 6pm. Walked back to Blackfriars and then got bus and tube to N London, where I was staying with a friend. Delicious meal cooked by him, then we had lots of catching up to do, including seeing loads of interesting photos of his trip to the Philippines.

This morning I met another London-based friend at Le Pain Quotidien in St Pancras International for a second breakfast. They have a great selection of different breads, and jars of chocolate spread on the tables ...

Back home about 3pm, went to supermarket for weekly shop. Have got the day off tomorrow, but some of that will be taken up with having my eyes tested (at ARU Optometry Clinic, so it takes quite a long time, as the final-year students do it under supervision), and getting a puncture mended. Discovered the puncture when I came out of the cinema on Friday after seeing 'A Single Man'. Not recommended (film, not puncture!) - although Colin Firth was good, the rest was predictable rubbish.
