Garden visit

Took two members of the Sunday lunch club to look round my workplace gardens today. The daffs are past their best, unfortunately - beaten down by the heavy showers yesterday - but the big magnolia in the inner courtyard is magnificent. There are also plenty of snakeshead fritillaries in flower, as well as scilla, grape hyacinth etc.
We had a walk round, and then went to a local pub for lunch. The Sunday roast on offer was either Gloucester Old Spot pork or Hereford beef - how did they know we were all TA listeners? The meat was very good, and the visitors also approved of the beer on offer (I'm not a beer drinker, so can't offer an opinion), but we agreed the veg were not as good as the ones at our usual pub. I think we're probably a bit spoilt! Anyway, it was nice to have a change of scene.
Rory McGrath came into the pub while we were there - he lives just round the corner - and had a jokey conversation with one of my friends who was at the bar.
