Satisfying week

Really feel as if I've got a lot done this week - both at work and at home - very satisfying!

While I was at home on Tuesday, waiting for the electrician, I booked a B&B for my trip to Cardiff in April, and also booked the train ticket online - only £30 return. Train tickets came in the post the next morning.

Have arranged a meeting with my financial adviser in a couple of weeks' time, to talk about pensions. Not looking forward to that, but I've been putting off the conversation for about two years ...

Got a load of filing done in the office - lots of paperwork left over from the admissions interviews and aftermath. Still have to do some data entry, and some cleaning up of data which was downloaded from the online application forms.

Learnt how to do a clever thing in Excel which saved me from having to manually check 4,000 school addresses for duplicates (don't really understand how it works, but the main thing is that it *does* work!).

Worked out how 'Watch on Demand' works on my digital TV - and was able to watch the first episode of the new series of Shameless, which I had forgotten was on! Saw Slumdog Millionaire (see previous entry) and booked a ticket for tomorrow to see Revolutionary Road.

"The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy is a wholly remarkable book. It has been compiled and recompiled many times and under many different editorships. It contains contributions from countless numbers of travellers and researchers."
