Went into work today, mainly to frank and send out the letters to applicants, giving the outcome of the December interviews. Although the Inter-College Pool was taking place, College was not officially open, so I had to put in a special request to the porters to get a couple of doors unlocked - otherwise I would have had to go up to the second floor every time I wanted to get from my office back to the porters' lodge, or to the hall where the Pool was taking place.
Our lovely Head Porter came and took the franked letters off to the Post Office for me, as we weren't sure whether the postman would be collecting post today (and anyway the access gate which he usually uses was locked).
Walked into town at lunchtime, as there was no catering onsite today. Several of the sandwich outlets were closed, and the others were very crowded.
About 4pm my knee suddenly started hurting - not the joint, it feels like the tendons at the back of the knee. It's OK when I'm standing or walking, but it really hurts when I sit down, or when I ride my bike.
Don't have to go in tomorrow, but my boss and I will be in the office on Sunday afternoon, contacting applicants who have been pooled by other colleges, and whom we are either calling back for another interview or making offers to.
