Spotted this in the local free rag this evening:

I read this in the pub on the corner of my street this evening. Said pub has been totally revamped - it used to be a bit plasticky and show football on a big screen, and had a rather rough clientele. Now it has a selection of decent wine, a real ale bar, and serves rather expensive food.
The main dishes arrive semi-cooked on 'hot rocks' on which they continue cooking at the table - my friend and I are going to try this out tomorrow night, and I will report back.
I'm not sure if it's a good or a bad thing to have a nice pub practically on the doorstep ... could turn out to be a bit of a temptation on nights when I don't feel like cooking!
