... in advance. And combined with March winds. It's been a bit of a gloomy week, weather-wise - I was lucky to have a sunny morning in Ely on Tuesday.

Today has been the worst I think, with some very heavy showers. Met S (from ML) for coffee and lunch before she started her stint at a local charity shop. Pleasant chat, although it was a bit noisy as we were in a cafe which seems to double up as the neigbourhood mother-and-toddler group.

Walked into town in the rain and went to the cinema: Lars and the Real Girl. Quirky, funny and quite touching. Had a quick look round the new shopping mall - the Grand Arcade. Very smart, though many of the shop units are not yet occupied. Was slightly disconcerted to notice the smell from the Lush shop in the adjoining covered shopping area even spreads into the new part. I know all their stuff is supposed to be 'natural' etc etc, but the combined smell is disgusting, and more powerful than any natural scent I've ever encountered!
