... and it's only been 5 days! Hope it's not going to drag on for weeks like Jane's did!

I think I had a cold this time last year as well - just before the madly busy time just after the application deadline, when I need all my energy and concentration.

Anyway, numbers seem to be slightly down on last year, but we will accept any which arrive on Monday (as 15 October [Sunday] is the official deadline), so we might still equal last year's record.

I'm getting a temp to help me for a few weeks starting on Monday, and as she is one of our students who graduated in the summer and who has been a great help with Admissions events over the last few years, it will be great to have her. Even if her IT skills are not great, that will be compensated for in having someone who knows the system, knows their way around the building, and knows the 'little ways' of many of the people involved!

Huge sympathies Annie - cold are awful and they drag you down too.

Must look out the vitamins and echinaeca (yes I know that's spelt incorrectly) and start taking them to see if it helps.

by the by would you fancy lunch one Sat in the forseeable future? am thinking of a day in Cambridge soon (it's like taking a holiday but without the stress of packing and airports for me)
