Now I admit there are probably many interpretations of this phrase, but in my vocabulary, it does not include 'heavy rain going on for an hour and a half, just at the time I need to cycle home'. So I didn't take my waterproof trousers to work.

Sorry you got wet, I'd heard about the rain. I've asked C if she's sorted herself out with waterproof wear for cycling but she hasn't yet. So she's intending to walk tomorrow if it's wet! She had her first tumble today, no bones broken just her pride a little dented!

Hope it's drier tomorrow for you Annie.... I'm desperate for a few dry days running up to and including the weekend so I can tackle the garden... and while we might get some sunny intervals it's always followed by rain. And I hate coming home in the dark....

Oh dear - the only thing worse than getting soaked coming home would be to get soaked going in to work! hope you've dried off and had a brandy or whiskey coffee to warn off any potential germs!

Thank you all for your concern! Soon got dried off and hung my wet jacket etc over the bath while I had a large glass of Aldridge Estate wine (thank you Sheena!).

This morning it was pouring again ten minutes before I was due to leave for work, so I got all kitted up in the waterproof gear, only to find that it had stopped by the time I got outside - oh well!

Oh dear Annie, what's the whether been like today? It's been sunny but cold here!
