... as usual! Forecast: dry but cloudy, possible showers. Actual weather: brilliant sunshine all day, really warm! Hurray! Love that kind of autumn day in Cambridge and I hope it's like that for the meet in a few weeks' time.
Walked into town at lunchtime and bought the Radio Times (as I often do on Tuesdays). Read Soap and Flannel over a sandwich and was delighted by the big spoiler re next week. Some people are going to be very pleased by this development!
This evening I've been to the College Feast (or Freshers' Feast) - a welcome dinner for the new students, also attended by the JCR Committee and 'Scholars' - any students who got a First in their exams last year. I usually get seated near students whose Director of Studies is not present and it can be a bit awkward trying to make conversation, but tonight I was lucky and found myself with some very chatty table companions, whose subject were History of Art, Oriental Studies (Arabic with French) and Classics. One of them had lived in South Africa for a while and her family have a house in Cape Town to which they go back regularly.
OK, it's late and I've got work tomorrow, so that's all for now.

Hi Annie,
I am replying to your blog (is that the right word?) because, possibly because you're an MLer, it reminds me so much of my only life: the weather forecast and RT on a Tuesday! Thanks Annie, for this posting - I suppose that I'd better write something into my Journal!
VBW,
TW

Hi there TW - yes, I guess this is a sort of blog. By the way have you read the Baghdad Blog? It's a collection of journal entries by a young Iraqi man, living in Baghdad during the invasion - fascinating stuff!
I think I know what you mean about life focusing on the weather forecast and the Radio Times, but I'm sure you have lots of other things going on as well, don't you? A hootoo journal would be a chance to tell us about some of them, if you want to.

Hello Annie,
Sorry for taking SO long to reply but this new system is very confusing! How are you?
No, I haven't read the Baghdad Blog, is it on here? I must try to blog more but with 7 archers sites to keep track of it's proving hard to find the time to do anything else but read! Which ones are you using?
VBW,
TW

No problem - I sometimes don't manage to reply to people for a long time too, especially when I'm busy at work. When I've been doing data entry all day, I often don't feel like sitting in front of the computer in the evening as well.
The Baghdad Blog was originally online, but I don't think it is there any more. I discovered it as a paperback book and I think some of the entries were also published in The Guardian.
I'm only using the new MBs - I can't cope with any more than I've already got, and actually there are lots of things I like about the new format. Easier to read for one thing. I never used time-order very much, although I can see that some people might like it.

Hi Annie,
I'm doing New MB's, Peet's ML and Ambridge World but I can't deal with anymore!
