Finished the amplifier. It's very good.

Slept from nine-thirty until two-thirty. I've finished the amplifier! Splendid. Now, Theo and his mate are clearing out the music room; they will finish this by tomorrow, although I may go and help just now. Yes, let me go and help them.
Then the damp people are coming to look at it on Friday. Then I shall have to get someone in, to see to the room; I will need a fitted carpet, some wallpaper, and curtainage, but not Mamacos this time, because they're too dear and they make you wait too long. I'll find the material myself and have the curtains made up, probably at that place on the Lansdowne Road, in Claremont; then I'll get a pole and rings and have it done myself.
Basically, thick curtains the length of the far wall, for the sake of the acoustic. If that isn't enough, then more.
But with a carpet and one wall of fabric, that ought to be enough.
I must take down those shelves, and include an extension cable and an adapter. And then a chair, a comfortable one, and a Standard Lamp; then the music stand, and a chair to sit on, and a low table for the amplifier, and speakers; and a small desk, for a laptop; and the mike stand; and a mixer (I have the one); and my piano; and a bookcase or something for music.
And a rug; and that should be it. Oh, and a fresh coat of paint on the door, as well. And a new light switch. And a new light fitting + shade.

A fitted carpet is a terrible schlep; I may end up going to my Iranian friends and getting a rug or two to put in the space, with an underlay.

I've composed four of ten Epigrams for solo cello, dedicated to Tess. I like them. They are very simple. I've done five of them now. That's half way through. I've got to search for diversity as well, that means the next one has to be an homosexualist, and one of them has to be a lesbienne, and one has to be disabled and German-speaking from one of the cantons of Auld Scotland.
That's five of the ten Epigrams for solo cello. I'm pleased with the ones I've done so far.
That's five of the ten Epigrams I've done so far for solo cello. I wrote a piece for solo cello but it was aborted. I'll plunder it, if there are any ideas worth plundering in it.
The idea is that someone, who shall remain nameless, shall play them.
About the piano variations, well, Lara never really got back to me. Wolly came out with a load of old bollocks about golly poo and bolly pop golly nolly boo.
But never mind.
Key: Complain about this post
