Knocked off a short piece for cello and piano, "Intermezzo", I don't know about it, it's very strange; the 12-note pieces have expanded my harmonic idiom somewhat although there's also a sort of quality about it that links to earlier pieces. The marking is Moderato assai - again, like the notes, those are the words that came to mind for the marking, I write what occurs to me.

Loli rang last night, wanting money and insulting me by trying to use white guilt - boxols to that. I said No. He thought he could get his way by coming round here to I told him it was pointless and not to come. I have had it with the Khezi Park lot. I knew he wanted money when he asked to come round last Sunday.

Need to write lots more music. Need to rewrite the Gloria of the Missa Brevis de Cruce.

I could provide the Intermezzo with brothers and sisters and make a cello sonata out of it I suppose... the intermezzo being a central scherzando movement.

Yes it will be called Little Sonata for Cello. I've hit a golden patch - last night's intermezzo is fun fun fun, and I'm very pleased with it, how tonality sort of shimmers into view from time to time; and I'm working on the first movement already.

Got my phono amp kit from Amerika but not the main amp. That was mildly disappointing. Never mind. Let's hope it comes soon. I will drive to fetch it from Epping, when it comes.

I have decided the Intermezzo is a cool piece of music.

David says the piano is percussive whereas the cello is legato. He's right. I've used the pianoforte as a percussion instrument. I am composing more and more these days. Please God I shall continue to improve in quality and fluency and continue to grow in music.
