The phone came on, but I can't send picture messages overseas. This has really p!ssed on my fire. I wanted to send Polly and my brothers pix of Stellenbosch, the mountains etc.
Went to bed late as was reading Harry Thompson's biog of Peter Cook.
Worked out how to make sensible-sized files from the camera.
Brett came round last night.
I am in orange T shirt, and shorts and trainers. It is full on summer again after a few days of cooler weather.
I am hungry! So I'm outta here. Gotta get some brunch.

I just ate chicken and cheese schwarma and chips with peri mayo. Mmm.
The pull of hootoo has brought me back to the internet cafe. (Wish they allowed smoking in here. They used to, before someone changed it.)
I can't call overseas on my new cellphone. That's because I still need to get authorisation for overseas calls. I think I may leave it, because I don't want to get into the habit of phoning my brother for a chat - we used to spend hours on the phone together and it's way too expensive. I will have to wait until I get Skype at home.
I can't send pictures overseas either. That's actually bad news, although it hasn't anything to do with me. They have yet to get permish from the overseas phone providers to allow pix to be sent.
Home internet connection - that's the next thing to conquer. I will have to go and do battle at the AGM of the Body Corporate. There is a Miss or Mrs Blomerus who wants to own the whole block. I think she thinks she is mistress of Leiwater and she probably veto'd my antenna for internet access. It will be interesting, if maybe vomit-inducing, to meet her in May.
Maybe she's a nice woman. But I've got this picture of a fat middle aged Afrikaans woman with revolving eyes and teeth and hair and a way of saying NO with each flat-footed footfall.
Just got an SMS (that's South African for text) from Brett asking if I want to go and watch some cricket this afternoon. Yes I would like that very much. So he's going to phone me again in an hour or two to tell me where the cricket is being played. It will be super nice to get out into the sunshine again.
I wonder how the wish list for Mustardland is getting on? Nothing has changed since October. Look, I still don't like the new Mustardland, but it does work - I got answers from the various threads I started recently. But there's no fun in it any more. I find I can't settle down to enjoy a couple of hours paging through the Bull or DtA any more. But I see that most or many other people do enjoy mustardland still, which is a good thing, of course.
Read a book about gay marriage. It was a conservative Christian book. I have to admit that I am coming round to the conservative Christian point of view re gay sex. Unlike the conservatives, I make a distinction between the inclination and the act. It's no sin to be tempted.
There are people's testimonies about their sexuality, and there is research and statistics. It seems that each side has its own statistics and research. I am not going to take sides publicly, but I know what I believe. All I really KNOW about it is this: it is a complex issue, and needs to be addressed with care, and will probably give rise to complex answers, if there are answers.
I also know that the ethical lists in Paul are to be used very, very sensitively. But on the other hand, in the end you can't get away from them. He is very explicit about bedroom behaviour. Many people say it's got nothing to do with anyone what I do in the bedroom. The Bible says otherwise. On the other hand, there is the Song of Songs, which is hot stuff, very (hetero) erotic. No anal s*x there though. I don't think b*ggery, rimming, fisting and so on are looked upon with favour by God. Shame... but there it is.
Silly to have asterisks. But I have been censored on here before.
I need a cigaret.
You see Tom Torrance was very conservative, and his son Iain is liberal. I would love to chat to Iain Torrance about his attitude towards gay sex and the ministry. But he has been removed to high places.
I wonder where the cricket is going to happen this afternoon.

Well.. that's damned odd.. considering how he allegedly made us in his own image. A case of "Don't do as I do..." I guess.
Still.. nobody said the system was supposed to be reasonable or sensible, let alone just.
Hope you are well, btw.

You will never get the point of Christianity until you commit to it. If you stand outside looking in, it won't make sense. I have explained to you before that that is the way it is DESIGNED to be.
If you don't like it, that's tough, I guess. Just stop carping, it's getting very boring.
Be a happy "atheist" and I will be a happy Christian.
