A blustery cold day though sunny, discouraging all outdoor activity. Spent most of it in bed, nursing that cold. Then a trip to the Garden Center where we bought two weeping flowering cherries, because though you see them everywhere, they're still heart-warming.

Decided during lunch that in five years' time we would review the situation and perhaps sell the house to buy a smaller one in the area. We have to make that resolve on a regular basis especially with spring coming in and the prospect of the garden getting on top of us.
Again we have resolved to take photographs of everything and decide who gets what.

Like all good resolutions, this will not happen any time soon. But a dear friend of ours is extremely sick and we know she has been making arrangements with her O/H as they're not married and you have to think about ways and means otherwise the state takes the lot. She talks about it in a very level-headed way and it is an inspiration to see how she copes but it does turn our thoughts to our own mortality.

I'm sorry to hear about your friend. But you're right, it's better to decide these things while you are fit enough to do so.
