Please forgive the forward nature of this post, but I feel it necessary to correct what may be a misconception on the part of Evadne Cake.

She maintains (on a post that a friend of mine is watching) that...
"It amused me enormously that the interruptions weren't directed on your threads, nor Aye Bees, for example! Possibly they couldn't risk that sort of playground tactic on able bodied women "with lives"? "

The reasoning behind the fact that I never challenged Jack's military lies on your threads is because he never made his outrageous military claims there. The conjecture that *I* somehow targetted Mrs Cake as she is disabled is as ludicrous as Jack's military career. There were two other threads I posted on where he made the same claims. I erred there, as I was not aware of the rules of this place with multiple postings. I have since apologised. My sole purpose was to challenge that military fallacy. Only until recently contacted by other posters who have had more damaging experience of his deceptions have I been more interested in his other tales of BS.

Until the recent pathetic Audrey/Meter Maid exchange I had nothing but respect for Mrs Cake and have never held any ill will towards her.

It seems evident that this is not reciprocal.

I am not trying to put you in the middle of this nor change your allegiance in any way. I am just clearing up this misconception. I have not lied on this site, but have pointed out that Jack has (and have backed this up with facts that Jack himself has run from or tried to deflect away). Feel free to check my postings for these incidences.

Tallulah, thank you for your post.

Point taken, but Rev Nick was responding to my question as to why certain people (no specifics were intended) would fall for such grand claims. Nick was expressing his view, not offering it as fact. Since I do not know any intended individual well enough to contest this opinion I was in no position to offer a counter argument. To do so would have been dishonest. Nick (as all here) is entitled to his opinion, and I certianly respect that. I understood this opinion and countered only that given this situation, the facts should still provide an eye opener.

My argument with Jack is that what he purports to be fact has been proven to be fiction, and I am at a loss as to why people would believe him when confronted with the evidence.

Tallulah, I do apologize if you took my comment as any kind of slur against anyone in specific. It was a generalization, based on quite a number of service people and their spouses that I have known over the years. 28 years now, in fact...

It still comes across as patronising from here, regardless of how many instances you're basing it on, Rev.

IS5416, please understand that it is not the fact that you have a point that you feel that you must prove that irks me. It's stuff like your ideation regarding smacking someone's face with a golf club.

I guess people will see and interpret what-ever they wish to.

Thanks you for that. You are correct that I should not have made a comment about smacking someone's face with a golf club. However, I was only referring to the ball, not the actual act. I would never dream of an act of such violence as I am a family man and would never comport myself in such an irresponsible manner. It's just a way to visualise your problems and expel them. It's really quite liberating. I have sometimes imagined the ball to be Tony Blair's face (for getting us into this war), but I would never want to make this a reality.

Let me just say, without further complicating matters, that some of the stories I have heard (from people who have no reason for lying) regarding whom I spoke of are not very nice and I was rather angry at him when I wrote what I wrote. I am not making an excuse, but rather making you aware of the circumstances and the manner in which the comment was made. My humour and candid nature does have a tendency to rankle some.

I would also like to add, that since I don't actually know what he *looks* like, that should give you a further clue to the "spirit" in which the comment was made.

Me, I'm not digging for anything. *IF* you are alluding to my asking a question of one of my contacts shortly after our recent exchange of words, what you see is what you get.

Idle, public speculation that I might be a front for Jack or indeed any other person really wasn't the way to make a friend or influence a person, y'know, in fact I consider it disrespectful and discourteous in the extreme. I suggest that you save such speculation for your email circle and Stop Offending Real People.

I assumed that you needed to know if it were possible that I had contacted the mods to check if Meter Maid and Audrey were sock puppets of Jack and chum. Hence your post about my sockpuppet info source.

If this was an incorrect assumption, I apologise, but you now know that this is a legitimate system of checking, and it paid off. I was correct about them.

The only idle speculation as to your identity (or not) was indeed on my part when in a stunned moment, I misraed what Nick had typed and thought he was hinting at you and Jack being the same. He put me straight on that instantly. I have already explained this point, I think.

If this did cause you some grief, I once more apoloigse. It was a moment of madness about something that, until I misread the post, I have never entertained, and was thus taken aback.

It has never been my intention to offend anyone. Exposure of the truth where Jack's military career is my only concern and only for the reasons I have stated. I have no hidden agenda and no wish to hack people off. If people defend his lies I will correct them with facts, but bear no-one ill will. Jack has been shown up time and again that he is telling porkies and this Meter Maid he created is a very sad ploy to add some weight to his BS. My only desire is to see the truth told about the profession I am in by people who have the right to tell it. And by that I mean those that have served or who currently serve. The old chestnut about walking a mile in moccasins...

If you may permit me one question (which you are of course not under any obligation to answer)...

Do you, in all honesty, have an issue with me and my desire to see the truth told about something I care very much about?
