h2g2 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Earth Edition

One thing that's been bothering me lately is this.....
You read and hear so many many different stories of Near Death Experiences where you are greeted into the next life by the souls of your loved ones, yet you also see so many religions that state a Death & Ressurection of the departed souls, which states that when you pass from this earth you pass into a "heaven" of sorts, and then you are "reborn".....

So my question is (and i'd really appreciate some clarity on this because obviously one day it's gonna be rather important to me !!)

if my loved ones have been "reborn" and are now living as different people from when i knew them, who is going to greet me when it's my time to departe???

because surely their souls are now within a different body and thus away from me?

The Dawn of the 'Multi-soul' religion - a bit goes here, a bit goes there. Actually, just remembered Aboriginis believe in I think a three layer soul?

well that would explain a few things, thanks for pointing that out to me, it's a concept i wasn't previously aware of......hmmmmmmmm you've got me seriously thinking now
