Problem with your Personal Page on WW2
Deborah - WW2 Team Started conversation Nov 28, 2005
Hi there,
The information on your My Space page also appears on WW2 People's War as your Personal Page. This happens because you have contributed an article or forum message to the WW2 site.
The WW2 People's War Team is currently working on archiving the website, which involves taking all the data out of the DNA system and putting it into a 'flat', future-proofed xml site.
Your current Personal Page is unfortunately not compatible with the archive because it contains smileys, which are non-standard xml. Even though it works perfectly on DNA, it will not display properly in the WW2 archive.
We would appreciate your help in fixing this problem. There are two options:
1. Delete all the smileys from your page.
OR
2. Reformat all the smileys using the full smiley tag, eg: <SMILEY TYPE="smiley"/> or <SMILEY TYPE="ok"/>. You can read more about smiley tags here: http://www.bbc.co.uk/dna/hub/GuideML-SMILEY
This will only work if your Personal Page is in GuideML format. Doing this will display the correct smileys while the site is live on the DNA system, but it will NOT work for the final archive. Smileys will not be displayed as graphics in the archive - you will only see the bit of code that originally created the smileys.
In short, best to delete the smileys. Sorry.
Deborah
