I am in the process of co-writing the following investigative entries:

The Ace Report - The Current Situation
The Guru Report - The Current Situation
The Scout Report - The Current Situation
The Sub-editor Report - The Current Situation

And when they are finished, I would be happy to serialise them in the Post. Someone suggested I contact you regarding this - if you're willing to do this, just contact me. They're not ready yet, but the Ace Report should be ready in a couple of weeks' time.

What are the reports about?

As the titles suggest, the Ace report is a more balanced look at the Aces on h2g2, the Guru report deals with the Guru system, and so on. Perhaps the most interesting will be the Scout and Sub ones - they're more secretive in the way that they work.

I'm kinda making it policy to co-write the entries - my views differ to some peoples' and I want to make it a bit balanced...

Sounds like a good idea. What angle are the reports taking? Do you just want to give an overview of what the volunteers do, or are you making a critical analysis of the jobs, for example? What is the purpose of the reports?

Pastey - I will make you a co-author on the Guru Entry. Today, Catwoman and myself finished the Sub-editor Report, so I guess that i shall start making arrangements for it soon - but there's still final checking to go, and Peta seems to have other ideas for it - but we shall see...

I have no objection to serialising them in the post - so far, the Subs, Aces and Scouts are done, but the Gurus is to be done soon. We have more reports on the way, including the Community Report, the Future Report, and the Why People Love h2g2 So Much Report (preliminary stages, final name tba).

Just tell me which you'd like, and could I suggest one a fortnight - we'll need a few weeks to get the Guru done, and I just spotted a correction to be made on the Scout. We've hardly started on the rest. You look busy. I heard about the latest scoop (giving nothing away - if I said 'test server' you'd know what I meant)...

I'd rather you didn't take the Scout one now - Bossel complains that it isn't finished. Could you take the Sub-Eds one instead? It's the oldest, and I wrote it with Catwoman. It's a traditionally formatted Report and sets the reader up rather better, although it's not hugely logical to do it first...
