Always on my mind!! (HAD to drop in!)
Yeah, I think it was Elvis originally, though that wasn't who I was thinking of. As for my 'repetoire', I'm only providing the lyrics - you keep getting them! (You're not a musician are you?!)
I'm so tired, I keep making spelling mistakes and closing the page when I mean to minimise it, so another five minutes and I'm gone. zzzzzzzzz...
Urm, what, who said that. Oh yeah, 'nother lyric. Mmmm, better make it a toughie! Oooh, that sounds like a good one...
'If religion was a thing that money could buy, well the rich would live and the poor would die'.
Hee hee hee he he he he...... zzzzzzzzzz

Er "musician" ..(chortles quietly to self). no not quite, I,ve been trying to learn to play the guitar for about 15 years!!but not very consistently so I am at the stage most people would be after about 6 months , but I have tried to learn a few songs in that time and funny enough one of them was "A Day in The Life" by the Beatles so it came in handy eventually! Why are you tired at 8am did you stay up all night revising or something?? Don't know your lyric off hand but here's a riddle on a similar theme
What is greater than god
More evil than the devil
The poor have it
The rich need it
and if you eat it it will kill you?
(by the way please don't feel tempted to give me any riddles I hate them(cos i'm no good at them !!der ..)
Have you tried the "TEST" on my page yet??
Off to work now...zzzzzzz

Tut tut. Does your mother know that you're out?
Downloading is taking ages tonight. I've finally managed to open my homepage. Why are there so many newbies all of a sudden? I've only got 11 minutes left of the hour I allotted myself *I will disconnect, I WILL disconnect!*
Had a suspicion you might be a 'budding' guitarist! Thought you'd nearly cracked it with the song reference (oops, a clue!) Yeah, I stayed up all night. I was working! (I work nights, I'm a nightshift worker, I don't have a 'day job' - least not a paid one!) 'I'm (not) a lumberjack and I'm alright, I sleep all day and I work all night'. Now I'm very, very tired cos I've only had five hours sleep today, and was nodding off in my English class this evening (I find the tutor very inspiring - really!)
Too tired to attempt the riddle right now! Will (try) to look at your test (where's the link, eh?!) If it takes another fifteen minutes to download a page, I'll be gone!
Do they do something like AOLs instant messenger for Macs? Just a thought. Notice you're here again anyway!!
I just can't get enough, I just can't get enough.....

Would I be right in thinking that you were so impressed (?!) with my horse that you nipped along and got yourself a certain cat from the 'same stable' so to speak?
I'm forever blowing bubbles... (ooh ooh)

Whilst waiting for my homepage to download (or rather, timeout repeatedly), I thought I'd go in search of some graphics, and bumped into Felix. I got the impression he was also waiting for H2G2!
There are around 50 *new today* on at the moment. It's the middle of the week - so I wonder what's sparked the sudden population explosion? I can't use the 'back' button, and the forums and user pages didn't appear on my homepage at last attempt. And I thought it was slow at other times!
Mmm, favourite song lyric? Funny, I'd been thinking about creating a page/forum for something like that. How do you vote?

Yeah, I got that a while ago. I tried to refresh it, and it just went blank (bit like losing parts of my home page).
Two solid days studying that can't be put off any longer. Perhaps I should try swallowing the modem (should give me about two days?!!) My watch has just beeped the second hour of my 'one hour visit'(!), so a quick trip to 'me' and I'm outta here.
I've been to paradise, but I've nevr been to me...

"Don't start that talking ' I could talk all night, my mind was sleepwalking while I'm putting the world to rights,"' OR.."I got no deeds to do, no promises to keep ' I'm dappled and drowsy and ready to sleep".. the latter I think , good luck with the studying , won't post anything to distract you for a couple of days,(not that it would I'm sure!) will check back at the weekend.

Slightly off topic for the thread, but on topic for your comment: I think the rise in popularity has something to sdo with the so-called "Slashdot Effect". If you're unfamiliar with the phrase, there is a website (www.slashdot.org) that deals with the Linux operating system, Open Source software, and other "geeky" things (Their tagline is "news for Nerds. Stuff that matters). Well, they posted a link to a story that the HHGTTG is becoming a reality sometime next year. In that story, there was a reference to this site (h2g2). I and seemingly many others wanted to see what they were talking about, and became intrigued enough to join. Hopefully, the impact will be negative in no way other than server traffic.

The population explosion is probably down to a mention in Fortean Times this month!
As for obscure songs, here's an excerpt from one of my favourites:
"Did two tours of duty in Vietnam,
"I came back with a brand new plan,
"Take seeds from Columbia and Mexico,
"Plant it in the hollow up at <song title"
Someone must know that one!

Sorry, don't know that one, but I don't think anyone's bagged Pegasus' Depeche Mode offering from a few postings back. And (only because you asked because I'm not that petty)it's not Chow, it's Ciao - it's Italian for goodbye, I think. (I've never studied the language so if I'm wrong I can live with the shame).
I'd offer some lyrics but it's early in the morning and my powers of recollection are limited. Well, anything suitably tricky enough to be of any interest......

Entropy Posted Sep 23, 1999
Sorry to intrude on the conversation but thats how I found this site (from slashdot). It looks pretty good from what I have seen so far and I guessed most of the lyrics posted but I have a song question.
It's a song that has been annoying me for a couple of weeks now since it was played as the background to a trailer on TV. A snippit had been played when advertising 'Buffy the vampire slayer' on Sky One about three weeks ago and the only lyric I have seems to be part of the chorus with the words '...and we will slip into the night.... into the night...into the night'. The song itself is quite melow and it has a male singer with a solo electric guitar (I think) playing in the background. Thats all the detail I know, the song has been rattling around my head since and I don't relish the thought of standing in the local music store attemping to sing it
Any thoughts, hints or references? TIA
