Owning Glasses Vs. Wearing Glasses

Post 1

Plum Linden

First off, I own a pair of glasses. But, why is it I am supposedly wearing them as well?
Now, if my glasses come in contact with my eyes, nose, any part of my face for any reason pertaining to the betterment of my vision for more than 30 seconds (we won't count stealing the glasses belonging to friends/relatives) and more often than once a month, I wear glasses.
But, if they sit on my dresser, collecting scratches and dust, lifed only if I am caught complaining about what my glasses are there for, and put on for as long as I have to before I'm out of the sight of the Iron Lady II (*My mother), then I own glasses.
So, am I to blame if I didn't tell an online friend I wear glasses? Certainly not. DO I go around bragging that I own a chair? No, I don't. Owning something is only permissable to announce it if is signifant to the situation. And I have never seen *any* conversation/event where *owning* a pair of glasses is considered head-turning news.
I own glasses, I do not wear them, and I feel this shoudl be clear.
