The Tetragramaton, the four Hebrew letters which form the name of God, is found over 7,000 times in the Hebrew Scriptures (Old Testament). The translation of these scriptures into Greek, the Septuagint, carries over the Tetragramaton untranslated. Since the writers of the Christian Greek Scriptures (the New Testament) quote several times from the Septuagint it is natural to assume that it was also found there, though it does not appear in any extant manuscripts.

The pronunciation has been lost due to Jewish superstition but the usual English rendering is Jehovah.

The Catholic Encyclopedia (1910), says 'Jehovah' is “the proper name of God in the Old Testament.”

Thanks to h2g2, I was able to finish my research this by looking at the views of the AOY at Bible Groups Pickings. I just want to thank everyone at H2G2 for this space and also, for helping me to find a respectable review site on different Chirstian denominations.

All these other names, the Assemblies of Yahweh claim, are just another ploy to prevent people from getting to the Truth and the Assemblies of Yahweh.

Well, the pronunciation has been lost. Hebrew was originally written without vowels. By the time vowels were added, the practice was not to pronounce the name, so the vowels for Adoni (Lord) were used instead. Hence the name "Jehovah", which is almost certainly wrong. But "Yahweh" is no more than a scholars' guess. There is some evidence for a trisyllabic pronunciation from personal names which included elements of the Tetragrammaton.
