Not for several years, it hasn't been. The silly county of Humberside was abolished and it was redistributed to Yorks and Lincs. I bet if you asked an inhabitant of Flamborough s/he wouldn't admit to being in North Humbserside. Otherwise a great bit of writing

Quite right, East Yorkshire.
My family and I often used to visit Flambourgh Head, and the RSPB site just up the coast, great place to go walking on the cliffs and lots of fun coves to go rock pooling in.

I thought you'd be the one to point that out.
Note that in BBC terms Humberside still exists - there's Radio Humberside and one of the drop down selections on the BBC news website is Humberside.

The police still use Humberside, as do the Scout Association. But otherwise, it's thankfully now non-existent.

I had mention the Humberside thing because the name still lingers about the officialese of the region despite it being universally reviled by all true Yorkshiremen.

Ah, yes... I see that what "used to be known as North Humberside and now is now East Yorkshire" became edited into "what is now known as North Humberside..."
Editors can be dangerous animals.

The Original text was actually...
"Flamborough Head, in what is now known as East Yorkshire, is the most North Easterly point in England, situated a mile north of Bridlington and south of Scarborough. For the information of non-Brits, Flamborough is separated from Scotland by the North Yorkshire moors, Durham, Newcastle, Tyneside and a whole bunch of Geordies who are a completely different species of Northerner to those of Flamborough. In theory, you do not meet up with a Scotsman until you reach the River Tweed but if you pop into any of Flamborough's pubs you will find that they all take Scottish currency and come Easter time, serve drinks to an uncanny number of Scots visitors."

Now I come to think of it...I never ever put in anything about Humberside at all! Well there we go then! It's not my fault
